District 1 encompasses Cordelia and Green Valley, a diverse district in terms of unique neighborhoods and range of demographics.

District elections:
2020 the City of Fairfield moved to district elections. Fairfield residents chose their first district council members for Districts 2, 4 for four year terms and District 5 for a two year term in November 2020.
In March 2022, the City Council approved new district lines after an extensive redistricting process to incorporate updated data from the 2020 Census.
November 2022, Fairfield residents will elect the first district council members for Districts 1 and 3 and district 5 for a 4 year term. Residents elect a citywide mayor every four years.
