A Record of Fairfield
Since taking office in November 2022, Councilwoman K. Patrice Williams, J.D., has delivered independent, community-centered, BOLD leadership on the Fairfield City Council. Defined by integrity, thorough preparation, and a willingness to ask tough questions, her record reflects an unwavering commitment to accountability, economic growth, and the wellbeing of every Fairfield resident.
Fiscal Responsibility & Government Accountability
Slashing the Structural Deficit by $13 Million: Before asking voters to support Measure P, the Council insisted that city departments lead by example through spending cuts and revenue adjustments. Under her leadership, the City’s structural deficit dropped from $21 million in 2022 to $8 million today.
Protecting Essential City Services: Supported measures giving voters control over local revenue to address structural budget challenges—safeguarding funding for police, fire, street repairs, and parks.
Independent Fiscal Oversight: Built a reputation for rigorously evaluating agenda materials, questioning consultants, and exercising fiduciary responsibility over city spending.
- Demanding Ethical Governance: Initiated the Quo Warranto legal process in December 2025 regarding mayor residency requirements, upholding public trust and leading to an independent investigation and the former mayor’s resignation in June 2026.
Infrastructure, Housing & Local Economy
Fighting for Road Improvements: Prioritized long-overdue infrastructure upgrades across Fairfield, driving attention and funding to key corridors including Red Top Road, Lopes Road, and Neitzel Road.
Tackling Homelessness: Championed permanent supportive housing solutions like Vista Ridge while aggressively pursuing regional and state grant funding to protect the City’s General Fund.
Economic Opportunity & High-Wage Jobs: Supported workforce development initiatives that expand opportunities for local small businesses, strengthen organized labor, and attract emerging industries to Fairfield.
Community Advocacy & Collaborative Leadership
Giving Voice to Underserved Communities: Ensured seniors, working families, women, youth, small businesses, and historically underrepresented groups have a seat at the table in city decisions.
Direct Community Engagement: Maintained open channels with residents through regular town halls, neighborhood meetings, constituent outreach, and transparent social media communication.
Building State & Regional Partnerships: Leveraged relationships across Solano County and California state leadership to secure regional resources for local transportation, housing, and public safety needs.
Courageous Leadership: Stood firm in representing residents with independence and integrity, refusing to let political pressure or contentious environments undermine transparent local governance.
